Introduction
This policy explains what personal data is collected on this site and via its booking feature, and who is responsible for it. See also the Terms of Service.
Who is responsible
Benjamin Aubertel is the data controller for both this site and the self-hosted Cal.com booking instance at cal.benjaminaubertel.com. This site itself does not collect any personal data on its own; booking data is processed by the self-hosted Cal.com instance, not by Cal.com, Inc.
Data collected
A functional language-preference cookie (see "Cookies" below). If you use the booking widget: your name, email address, your choice of meeting location (a Google Meet link is generated automatically, or you may type a free-text location/number/link under "Somewhere else"), any optional notes you add, any additional guests you choose to invite, and the timezone your browser reports, used to display available time slots.
Legal basis
The language cookie relies on legitimate interest (a strictly functional feature). Booking data is processed on the basis of pre-contractual steps you initiate by requesting a meeting.
Subprocessors
Google (Google Calendar, for calendar sync, and Google Meet, for the video call link) is the only subprocessor involved in the booking flow.
Cookies
This site sets a single first-party, strictly necessary cookie to remember your language preference, valid for one year. It contains no tracking data. No analytics or third-party tracking cookies are used, so no cookie consent banner is shown.
Data retention
The language cookie is kept for one year. Booking data (name, email, and the details listed above) is kept for one year.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your data, and to object to its processing. The self-hosted Cal.com instance does not currently offer self-service deletion; requests are handled manually — email privacy [at] benjaminaubertel.com and the request will be processed directly against the instance's database.
Data transfers
Booking data is hosted on EU infrastructure. Google, as a subprocessor for Calendar and Meet, may process data outside the EU under its own applicable safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses).
